I think he meant that don't let someone or something tell you to do something, don't let something control you. Believe in yourself what's right, not your sense of moral tells you what's right or not. To believe yourself is better than just your sense of moral. Do something you think what's the right. Don't let some other thing to control you, you have your own thinking. Trust yourself, and believe yourself.
